Adoniram and the Open Door

Adoniram chose to act rather than wait to see if the open door was meant for him.

Maybe it had been left open for someone else. Maybe it had been left open by mistake. Maybe it had been left open as a test of his honesty. The usual guard hasn\’t there. There was no sign saying \”Welcome, Adoniram\”! There was just an open door. But he had been told to expect an open door by King Solomon. His heart told him that this door was left open for him.

The Masonry that is in your heart will know if the door is right for you. If it\’s a test of your honesty, your Masonic teachings will help you pass by that door. If it was left open for someone else, your sense of Brotherly Love will help you point out that door to the one it was meant for. If it was left open for you, you\’ll feel it, even without a Welcome sign.

If you only walk through the doors that you know, you\’ll only get to the places you\’ve been before. If you never go through a door until you\’ve made certain that it was left open for YOU, you\’ll never be any better, knowledgeable, or appreciated than you are right now.

Every dawn is an open door. Every day is a new opportunity. Every time you think or act or speak you walk through a door into a new room. Let your moral Square and Compass lead you through the right doors.
