Each year for the past several years, the Board of Trustee of the Cryptic Masons Medical Research Foundation has set a goal of raising $500,000 to support our charity. Each year, we have fallen short. The next year we redoubled our efforts and have successfully raised more than the year before … but still fallen short. In 2019, we raised $268,000; in 2020, $342,000; and in 2021, $391,000. I am pleased to report that, while the final figures are not all counted, we are close enough to say we have reached our goal of raising $500,000 in 2022!

Many of our Companions have worked hard to accomplish this goal. A very special thank you goes out to all the State Chairman, Area Coordinators, Grand Council Officers and local councils who have helped spread the word about our charity and the need for funding. Thank you to all the individuals and organizations who have dug deep and made significant donations. Each year we have increased the number of first-time donors, and this has made a big impact on our donations being up year over year. Donations large and small have all added toward reaching the goal.

Companions, The Cryptic Masons Medical Research Foundation, through its funding of work being done at the Indiana University School of Vascular Medicine, is having a major impact on advances in vascular medicine using stem cells. Most recently, the sports Commentator covering the World Cup Soccer died as a result of an aortic aneurism; a disease treatable with stem cells. Amputations, as a result of peripheral Arterial Disease, is an expensive surgery affecting too many of our, mostly, older citizens. These are two of the most advanced areas of research being funded by CMMRF. Other areas include Diabetes, and Cancer.

In closing, let me again say THANK YOU to each and everyone who contributed to our successfully reaching our goal of raising $500,000 for medical research. It is said that “every noble work is at first impossible”. But with the help of many Companions … WE can make the impossible possible.
