Most Illustrious Grand Master, District of Columbia
On November 8th-9th, 2019, the Grand Cryptic Council of the District of Columbia will be celebrating 100 years of Cryptic Masonry.
On April 5, 1919, the then General Grand Master of Royal and Select Masters, George A. Newell, travelled to Washington, DC to preside over the constitution of a new Grand Council in the District of Columbia, comprising of Washington Council No. 1, Adoniram-Zabud Council No. 2, and Columbia Council No. 3; and to witness the installation of George Corson, as its first Grand Master. Between then and now, our Grand Council has grown and shrunk and grown again. One thing however, has remained the same- the commitment of its membership to Cryptic Masonry.
April 5, 2019 marked the 100 year anniversary of the Constitution of the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of the District of Columbia. On November 8th and 9th, 2019, our Grand Council will celebrate this auspicious event, beginning with a Degree festival, and concluding with a Festive Board.
As part of the centennial commemoration, the Royal Master and Select Master Degrees will be conferred on Friday, November 8, beginning at 7 P.M.; and on Saturday morning, beginning at 9 A.M., we will confer the Super Excellent and Thrice Illustrious Master Degrees. We plan to conclude the celebrations with a Festive board at 5 P.M. on that day. The Grand Council has commissioned a limited edition commemorative medallion (as shown), and a special historical anniversary booklet, which will be given to each Brother who attends the Festive Board (Masons only). This will be a very special event, and we invite all Masons to join us in making this event very memorable.
Tickets can be purchased at the following link for $80.00, and each ticket includes the Festive Board, medallion, and anniversary booklet: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/grand-council-centennial-anniversary-tickets-72256510167
