On behalf of Cryptic Masonry in Hawaii, it is my honor and privilege to update our Illustrious Companions of the progress being made in regards to Cryptic Masonry in the Hawaiian Archipelago.

For over 150 years, the York Rite of Freemasonry has flourished in the Hawaiian Islands, with Cryptic Masonry playing a prominent role in the continued development and success of the Rite. 2018 was an incredible year for Cryptic Masonry in Hawaii. Honolulu Council no.1 and Kalakaua Council no.3 experienced increased levels of interest from Master Masons looking to continue their journey in Masonry. Both councils welcomed large numbers of petitions throughout the year, which culminated in an extremely successful Fall York Rite Festival held in Hawaii’s Capital City of Honolulu.

Maui Island’s newly chartered Kamehameha Council no.6 continues to experience growth and prosperity. While still in its infancy, the Maui York Rite Bodies is attracting many brethren on the Valley Isle. Suffice it to say, the future of Cryptic Masonry on Maui Island is in great hands, and with it comes the continued expansion of Cryptic Masonry throughout the Asia-Pacific Region.

\"Honolulu

Hawaii’s oldest York Rite Bodies, which includes Honolulu Council no.1, has begun the process of rebranding itself and its mission in the Hawaii Masonic Community. The Rite recently finalized a new logo, which will adorn the organization’s redesigned dues cards, stationery and online presence. The organization’s decision to rebrand itself is part of a greater movement to revitalize and reposition the York Rite as the foremost appendant body in Freemasonry — Rich with tradition, understanding and a reverence for the masonic experience and the teachings it imparts.

It’s apparent that Cryptic Masonry is on the rise in the Hawaiian Islands, and that it will continue to experience heightened levels of growth in the coming years. Armed with a refreshingly new perspective of what Cryptic Masonry has to offer, the companions of Hawaii are determined, more than ever, to advance and amplify Cryptic Masonry’s mission in the world.

The 2019 Joint Annual Communication of the Grand York Rite Bodies of Hawaii will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, with special events occurring on the days prior and after the official business sessions. Some of these special events include an evening ball at the prestigious Pacific Club in downtown Honolulu, as well as a tour of the historic Iolani Palace and its world-renown royal masonic exhibit.

We look forward to seeing all who can attend the Annual Communication of Hawai’i’s Grand York Rite Bodies! Please find registration forms and information on the calendar, or contact Gerhart W. Walch, PGIM, Grand Recorder (click here).
