\"AwardPresenting the Award

On August 21, 2021, the Grand Guardian Council of Jobs Daughters of Minnesota was pleased to present the EMT recognition award to Karen Ketola. Karen and Joanie Peterson (to be awarded at a later date) have served as the Camp nurses for many years. Without these two women, Camp would not be allowed to happen.

Karen and Joanie are both Majority Members of the Job’s Daughters in Minnesota, and are adult leaders in the organization. Karen’s Daughter is also a Majority member in White Bear Lake, MN.

Job’s Daughters Camp takes place yearly at Camp Lake Hubert in northern Minnesota. A long weekend of camp activities including sports, swimming, Canoe and Kayak racing, archery and, of course, the Water weenie. This last event is often the highlight of the weekend, for both the Jobies and adults, and our Grand Lodge visitors.

This year, the theme for Camp was “Excellent 80’s adventure” and the whole camp was decked out in neon extravagance. Lisa was completely surprised as Lisa Peterson, Grand Guardian, and Brian Dimatteo, Deputy Grandmaster of the Grand Council of Minnesota presented the award. These two women give freely of their time and their medical resources. The example they set for our Youth is timeless and they are very deserving!
