Mike left this earth to join his parents Elmer and Mary Whiting as well as his sister Kathy, the evening of Tuesday, July 27, 2021, surrounded by love and family. He leaves behind his wife and love of his life, Jeanne; his brother, Dennis (Mary) Whiting, and his sister, Cheryl O’Donnell. He will be deeply missed by his children: Dawn (Eugene) Myers and Michael (Melissa) Whiting; grandchildren: Heather (Nick), Caitlyn (Sean), Michael (USMC), Jordan, Eugene, Gage, Perry, Dillon, Harlow, and his great granddaughter, Sophie. He has many beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He would say family was his greatest accomplishment. He retired from General Motors and was a member of Pontiac Lodge #21 and Roosevelt Lodge #510 and actively participated with his beloved friends in several Masonic organizations. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. Funeral service will take place at 11am on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 4-8pm with a Masonic Service at 7pm, and again on Wednesday, one hour prior to the service. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Beast Mode Boxing Club 501c3, 4355 Waverly Dr., Waterford, MI 48329, where his grandchildren are active participants, or your favorite charity in his name.
