Most Illustrious Companion Steven C. Smith served as the Most Illustrious Grand Master of Nebraska in 2010, the Most Excellent Grand High Priest of Nebraska in 2014, and the Right Eminent Grand Commander of Nebraska in 2007. He was born September 20, 1948 and died March 8, 2022.

Survived by son, Steven C. Smith II (Free); grandchildren, Steven C. Smith III and Sophia H. Smith; sister, Judith Salem (Ali); brothers: David (Connie), Larry (Allene) and Michael (Sara); brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lee and Sherry Haar, and Peggy Haar; nieces and nephews, other relatives, many friends. Memorials are suggested to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.
