Wichita, Kansas – Wayne Lee White, Age 90, a lifelong Sumner County resident, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather, passed away Thursday afternoon, December 17, 2020 @ Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. Wayne managed Electronic Computer Aided Design Operations for Boeing Aircraft Company in Wichita and retired after 39 years of service. Wayne L. White was born on October 14, 1930 in Wellington, KS to Roy L. White and Jennie \”Faye\” (Barnes) White. Wayne was a graduate of Wellington High School, Class of 1948, Wichita Business College, Friends University (BS), and Webster University (MA).

His military schooling includes Command and General Staff College, Armed Forces Staff College, Air War College, Industrial College of the Armed Forces. Wayne retired from the US Army with the rank of Colonel.

He was affiliated with many organizations, including several Masonic Lodges, Wichita Scottish Rite, York Rite, Midian Shrine, National Sojourners, Inc., and High Twelve Club. He served as Most Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons of Kansas the 2011-2012 year. Other associations include Wellington Jaycees, American Legion Post # 90, Reserve Officers Association, Military Order of the World Wars, and Sons of the American Revolution.

Wayne married Helen L. Fauchier on September 1, 1957 at Grace Methodist Church in Wichita, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Helen White of Wellington; three daughters, Micki Wilson of Buhler, KS; Dana Russell (Bob) of Wellington, and Jacki Redd (Steve) of Wichita, KS; brother Melvin White (Irene) of Peck, KS; grandchildren, Chelsea (Ross) Barker, Emily (David) Crupper, Ann Marie Wilson, Adam Russell, Jennie Russell, Heather (Mike) Bullard: great grandchildren, Wynnie Barker, Cozy Barker, Wilson Crupper, Taylor Schoenhoff, Bailey Dickerson, Riley Dickerson; and great great grandchild, Lily Adams; one nephew, Bryan White of Wichita, KS and niece, Terri White Osborne of Haysville, KS.

Private family funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 @ 1:00 at First United Methodist Church, Wellington. Pastors Alan Lindal and Isaac Chua will officiate. The service will be live streamed on the church FB page. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites followed by Military Honors by American Legion Tom Schwinn Post # 90.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 1:00 – 7:00 P.M.

When attending, please adhere to the current public gathering guidelines by wearing a face mask.

Memorials have been established with the First United Methodist Church of Wellington, the Kansas Masonic Home, and Sumner County Historical & Genealogical Society in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
