On July 24, 2021, Most Puissant Companion David A. Grindle, Junior Past General Grand Master, presented the Columbian Medal to Right Puissant Companion James G. Baum, Past Regional Deputy General Grand Master—Southwest at the Southwest Regional Red Cross of Constantine Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona.

RPC Baum has worked tirelessly as a Regional Deputy General Grand Master for General Grand Council and as a Past Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of California. For many years, he was the coordinator for the California Grand York Rite Sessions in Bakersfield and Visalia.

This Medal was authorized at the 47th Triennial Assembly held virtually on September 26, 2020.
