Two Roads Diverged Into a Wood

\”Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.\” Psalm 1:1-2

Companions,

Psalm #1 demonstrates the easy progression of going down the wrong path. As we walk along in the world, we hear bad advice from bad people, and as we are more exposed we stand awhile to listen with more attention, and finally, we sit in the seat of the scornful and not in the seat of the moral virtues. Verses 1 and 2, as does the rest of the Psalm, contrasts the lives of the wise and the foolish or the godly and the ungodly. Robert Frost wrote in his poem \”The Road Not Taken\”, \”Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference.\” Robert Frost was on a wooded way with no signs to guide his choice that day, but we Companions have the light, to read and study by day and night. Make your choices with God\’s advice and keep in mind:

O Lord our God, as we make our life choices give us the wisdom and courage to follow your way – the way of life. Amen.
