Welcome to the East Central Region!

by Steve Striggow
RDGGM, East Central US

Of the East Central Region, Michigan is the only Jurisdiction that requires the Super Excellent Master Degree for membership. To accomplish this, several festivals are held throughout the state each year with the Grand Council doing the Super Excellent Master Degree. These festivals are to assist the Local Councils that are not able to put on the degree themselves. The East Central Region consists of the states of Michigan, Indiana and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Ohio and Illinois do not belong to General Grand Council but we have Ambassadors in these states and visit their functions.

On the 10th of March, the East Central Regional Conference will be held in Fort Wayne Indiana. The Conference is being held in conjunction with the General Grand Chapter and the East Central Department of Grand Encampment. The Grand Encampment makes their Leadership Training Course available on that day. There will be seminars for the General Grand Council on that day also.

Visiting the various jurisdictions in the East Central Region is a great journey in Cryptic Masonry. From Southern Kentucky to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the Companions enjoy the craft very much. They are proud of their local councils and have the welcome mat out to all that journey their way. It is the goal of the Grand Councils to make sure the experience of every companion in their jurisdiction, is one that will keep them interested and returning for more.

I very much look forward to seeing the Companions of the General Grand Council at future gatherings.

Fraternally; Steve Striggow
Regional Deputy General Grand Master
